Meet JoAnna
JoAnna Giles, Owner & Director
With over 34 years of experience in the Alpine School District, JoAnna Giles brings unmatched knowledge, leadership, and heart to Bright Grove Preschool. Her career has been dedicated entirely to helping young children succeed—making her a trusted expert in early childhood education.
JoAnna has taught a wide range of elementary grade levels and spent many years specializing in autism preschool, where she developed a deep understanding of how to support children with diverse learning styles and needs. She also coordinated the district’s Early Childhood Assessment Center, working closely with families to identify developmental needs and ensure children received the right support from the very start. This level of experience gives Bright Grove Preschool a strong foundation that goes far beyond a typical preschool program.
As a Pleasant Grove native who raised her own three children in the community, JoAnna understands what families are looking for in a preschool—safety, trust, and a place where their child will truly thrive.
What sets JoAnna apart is not just her experience, but how she uses it. She is passionate about creating a preschool environment where every child is known, supported, and given the tools they need to grow in confidence, independence, and readiness for kindergarten. Her expertise allows Bright Grove Preschool to meet children where they are—and help them reach their full potential.
Meet Kailey
Kailey Loftus, Teacher
Kailey Loftus brings over 12 years of hands-on experience working with children in the Alpine School District, supporting learners from preschool age through young adulthood. Her broad background gives her a deep understanding of child development across all stages, allowing her to meet each child where they are and help them grow with confidence.
Kailey spent four years as the head teacher in a Life Skills special education classroom, where she developed strong expertise in individualized instruction, behavior support, and creating meaningful learning experiences for children with diverse needs. Her time in this role shaped her belief that every child can learn and deserves a supportive, inclusive environment to do so.
At Bright Grove Preschool, Kailey uses her experience to create a classroom where all children feel valued, capable, and encouraged to explore and grow. She is passionate about inclusion and is dedicated to helping each child build confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
As a mother of three, Kailey understands the importance of trust when it comes to your child’s care and education. She loves spending time with her own children and brings that same warmth, patience, and genuine care into her classroom each day.

Our Philosophy
THE SMALL CLASS DIFFERENCE
We believe the early years matter most. That’s why our preschool is designed intentionally with small classrooms of only 10–12 students.
This allows our teachers to create meaningful connections with every child while fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Bright Grove Preschool is proud to offer a secondary breakout room, with a 6:1 teacher ratio, that empowers our students with both the attention and individual care needed for healthy early childhood development.
“Education is not filling a bucket, but lighting a fire.”
ALL ARE WELCOME
We believe every child deserves a place where they feel welcomed, supported, and valued.
Our inclusive environment embraces students of all abilities and partners closely with families to help each child grow with confidence. We strive to partner with parents to enable our students equal opportunities for both education and social development.
While potty training is highly encouraged, we understand every child develops at their own pace and proudly welcome children who are still learning.
PLAY IS THE FOUNDATION
We believe children learn best through play and that it is essential for growing the skills, confidence, and love of learning that makes school worthwhile. With this approach, our curriculum includes:
Hands-on activities that make learning meaningful and fun
Purposeful play that builds early literacy, math, and social skills
Opportunities for creativity, imagination, and exploration
A balance of guided learning and child-led discovery
